PROVITIS PRE-PRUNER MP 122

The Provitis MP 122 pre-pruner is a robust mechanical pre-pruning solution designed for wide-spaced vineyards. Its two hydraulically driven cutting modules use stacks of sharp discs to remove the upper canopy quickly and cleanly, allowing growers to work at speeds of up to 10 km/h while maintaining a smooth, consistent cut. This greatly reduces the manual effort required during winter pruning.

A facing disc ensures a clean shear without splitting wood, while the flat underside of the discs protects buds and spurs. The design guides shoots efficiently into the cutting zone without damaging trellis wires, making it suitable for a wide range of pruning systems. With low hydraulic demand, reduced rotation speed for safer operation, and configurations ranging from 6 to 28 discs per module, the MP 122 can be adapted to suit different vine sizes and canopy densities.

Ideal for growers looking to streamline winter pruning and cut labour costs, this pre-pruner prepares the canopy so subsequent hand work is faster, easier, and more efficient.

OPTIONS
SIDE CUTS
  • The side cuts are supplied with safety retraction and manual setting of the cutting angles and width.

  • They are serially connected with the pre-pruning head and require no additional flow rate.

AUTOMATIC OPENING
  • The optical detection operates for any type of post (wood, steel, concrete). There must be no leaves left. The system requires posts without holes in the reading axis and with a cross-section larger than or equal to 25mm.

  • The inductive detection (not shown) only operates with steel posts. But it allows pre-pruning immediately after the harvest, even if there are leaves.
